TRANSFORMATION COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (est 2015)

Transformation Community United Methodist Church is the result of a series of mergers. First UMC (organized on December 2, 1890), Wesley UMC and Academy United Methodist Churches merged in 1998 and became First Wesley Academy United Methodist Church. The Ivanhoe UMC merged with First Wesley Academy in 2015. The newly merged congregation became Transformation Community United Methodist Church (Tcumc). The merger teams sought to establish a divinely inspired mission focused for the South Suburban communities of Chicago. The focus of our ministry is to help individuals apply and articulate their personal faith within today’s society by being socially and culturally relevant. TCUMC further embraces the mission of the United Methodist Church “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
